2007 Section Annual Sponsor Program

The American Welding Society, Houston Section is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to the promotion of welding and welding education.  The Houston Section sponsors welding educational programs and scholarships in the Houston area for the benefit of all students, individuals, and companies with an interest in the science and profession of welding.

Companies and organizations that use welding, or supply materials and services to welding users should consider the benefits of becoming a sponsor of the AWS Houston Section.  The programs offered and supported by the AWS Houston Section make an important contribution to the profession of welding.  Promoting welder and weld inspector education and improving the knowledge of the welding community about new technologies and standards support the growth and vitality of this profession that is a key component to many industries.  Money contributed by Houston Section Sponsors will support the following activities:

20% of all sponsor contributions are applied to the AWS Houston Section Scholarship Fund.  This fund is used to provide scholarships to students who are enrolled in educational institutions and pursuing studies related to welding science and practice. 

20% of all sponsor contributions are applied to a special educational fund used to subsidize continuing education programs for welders in the Houston area as well as to provide educational grants or support to educational institutions teaching welding related curriculums.

Funds from the sponsorship program are also used to subsidize student meal costs at the AWS Houston Section monthly meetings and to defray costs associated with the technical presentations made at the monthly meetings. 

The funds are also used to support the cost of conducting the CWI programs and certification tests in the Houston area.

Sponsors for the 2007 AWS calendar year will receive special recognition on the AWS Houston Section website @ www.awshouston.org.   

There are two levels of sponsorship available for interested parties: 

Stainless Level                                                                  $200 per year 

At this level a sponsor will receive:  

·   Recognition on the Houston Section Web Site – Business Card 

Titanium Level                                                                    $995 per year

 At this level a sponsor will receive: 

·    Recognition on the AWS Houston Section Web Site www.awshouston.org plus a link from the Houston Section Web Site to the Sponsors Web Site and Web Site Banner Recognition for one month of the year

·    A total of ten (10) free dinner tickets to AWS Houston Section meetings plus recognition as a sponsor at one table at each monthly Houston Section Meeting.

(These tickets can be used at any meeting held during the calendar year)

·    Recognition in Section Newsletters/Meetings

·    Sponsor recognition at all Houston Educational Sessions plus two (2) prepaid registrations for any of the Houston Educational Sessions

·    Sponsor recognition for a hole at the AWS Golf Tournament plus two (2) prepaid registrations for the  AWS Golf Tournament plus sponsorship recognition for a skill contest at the Tournament

·  Sponsor recognition at any Houston Section Social events plus two (2) prepaid tickets to any one of the Houston Section Social events
