Derek Stelly Bio

Mr. Stelly has been in the welding industry for 5 years, currently employed by Gulf Coast Welding Corporation as the Quality Control Manager. Mr. Stelly has experience in pipe fitting, plate rolling, pipe welding & quality control inspection. His involvement in the quality control department has exposed him to the major welding codes such as ASME, AWS, & API. His roles consist of both dimensional and weld inspection, development & procurement of welding procedures, qualification of welder and weld operators. He is also involved in the non destructive inspection side including PT, MT, VT, UT, & Radiographic interpretation. Also he is currently completing his Associates Degree in Specialization in Welding Technology and Specialization in Inspection Technology. His involvement with American Welding Society Houston consists of Chairman of Program & Publicity 2007-2008 and Hospitality Committee 2008-2009 and currently serving as the Secretary on the 2009-2010 Executive Board.
